As predicted, Uganda Cranes have recalled dependable stars in their bid to do a double over Kenya Simbas in the return leg of the Elgon Cup. A youthful and inexperienced Uganda beat Kenya 16-13 at the Mamboleo Showground over a fortnight ago. It was Uganda’s first win over Kenya since 2015.

Recent graduates Ivan Magomu (Law) and Phillip Wokorach (Business Administration) have all made the cut as does Uganda 7s Captain Michael Wokorach, Pius Ogena and Paul Epillo.

Kenya Harlequins duo of Aaron Ofoywroth and Daudi Ssemwami retain their places as does USIU’s Joseph Kagimu, Kabras Sugar duo of Asuman Mugerwa and Eliphaz Emong. Former Kabras Sugar star Charles Uhuru also makes the cut.

Kabras Sugar’s star Asuman Mugerwa is retained as Captain and will be assisted by Brian Asaba and Aaron Ofoywroth.

The game will be played at the famous Kyadondo grounds in Kampala. It will be preceded by the match between Lady Cranes and Kenya Lioness.
